The FreeStyle Vie Flushable inner liner is designed for simple, reliable disposal in any toilet – at home or abroad, at sea or in the air.
The inner liner is safe to flush down:
- all domestic toilets
- septic tanks systems
- portaloos
- vacuum extraction systems
The liner begins to dissolve the instant its outside surface comes into contact with water. The clean outer cover can then be recycled.

The ‘greener’ option
FreeStyle Vie Flushable’s outer pouch can be recycled along with other plastic packaging. Because no part of the pouch (or contents) needs to be disposed of in landfill, there are none of the environmental issues associated with the use of old fashioned pouches.
The healthier option
Old fashioned pouches can also pose a health risk. Some plastics take up to 450 years to biodegrade in landfill. Once the landfill sites have been discontinued the land is often used for building new homes, so old pouches can be dug up many years later, causing a health hazard to those working on the site.
Faecal contamination from the pouches can include:
- Infections diseases including Hepatitis A, B or C
- Spores
- Worm infestations
